What is hypnosis?

It may be surprising to many to learn that we experience trance states often during the course of our lives. Even driving, watching television and passing into ordinary sleep involves a kind of trance state. The experience of hypnosis is similar – neither asleep nor awake and a little like daydreaming, with a pleasant feeling of deep relaxation behind it all. Hypnosis is a different state of consciousness which you can naturally enter so that, for therapeutic purposes, beneficial suggestions may be given directly to your unconscious mind.

You may have tried other therapies and strategies in the past to resolve a problem. Hypnotherapy may be a very different approach to those you are used to. It is an active process, not just something that is ‘done to you’. You are involved. You have control. You are ultimately part of the solution.

Who am I?

Margaret Perry has followed a keen interest in alternative health and healing and this led her to train as a Clinical Hypnotherapist with the London College of Clinical Hypnosis (LCCH). She is a member of the British Society of Clinical Hypnosis (BSCH) and is a fully qualified Counsellor who has worked in the NHS and voluntary sector helping people to overcome a wide range of problems. Margaret has a practical, down to earth approach that is empathic and non-judgemental of individuals and their behaviour. Her extensive experience allows her to use a flexible, integrative approach when helping each client achieve their goal. Margaret uses hypnotherapy to help her clients overcome conscious resistance to change. Her personalised approach is tailored to suit individual needs.
